    感谢您长期以来对ddm/上海东大名创库的关注。

    作为中法文化年的重要活动，2004年12月4日始，一场主题为“贮存”的空间装置艺术展，将于ddm举行。法国艺术家冉·克罗德·卡普马尔蒂先生，在这里重新解构光与影的关系，通过一系列细节元素，最终将一个未知的艺术空间真实呈现在观者面前。这个空间究竟在诉说什么，当你进入之后，答案自然得到解答。

    本次装置展缘起艺术家2年前的探访，由仓库改建的艺术创库，让人联想“贮存”一词。人并非造物主，而是自然的掠夺者，或，只是在经验的基础上对自然进行重组。和所有动物一样，并非造物主的人，也许并未意识到“贮存”这个概念对于自身的意义。为生存，贮存食物，建造房屋贮存自己。跟随科技发展创造新的贮存方式，层面也变得更加宽泛。声音、字符，都成为贮存的对象。还有记忆，这个人类赖以生存却无法解释的贮存方式。展览整体就是基于对记忆贮存的探索而引发的。

    即将看到的，不只是艺术家反复思考后的结果，更是一个重新认识当代法国文化的现场。与此同时，我们期待与你对话，你的来到以及对ddm的关注，都是我们发展的最重要动力。

To the dearest friends of ddm:

First of all, thank you for your consistent attention to ddm / Shanghai Dong Da Ming warehouse.

As one of the important activities of China-France Culture year, begin at December 4th, 2004, a spatial installment art exhibition named “ Stockage” will be held in ddm. French artist Mr. Jean Claude Capmarty, will re-deconstruction the relations between light and shadow here, through a series of detailed elements, and finally represent an unknown artistic space in front of the viewer truthfully. What the space really wants to tell, the answer will be naturally obtained after you entering into it.

The exhibition this time is originated from one visit to here of the artist 2 years ago, an art gallery rebuilt from a warehouse, associating people’s idea with the word “Storage”. Human Beings are no demiurge but the plunderer of the nature, or, only reorganize the nature based on their experience. Same as all the other animals, the non-demiurge human beings, probably still haven’t realized the significance of the conception of ”store” to their own yet. In order to survive, they store food, and construct houses to store themselves. With the development of technology, new ways of storage have been created and its stratification plane also changes broadly. Sound and character have all become the objects to store. Also the memory, way of storage that supports human Beings to live on but could hardly been explained as well. This exhibition as a whole is initiated by the exploitation based on the storage of memories.

What you are going to see, is not only the result turns over in the mind of artist, but more of a site scene to re-understand the French contemporary culture. At the same time, we expect the conversation with you, your attendance and your attention to ddm, will all become the most important power of our development.

From December 4th, 2004 to January 2nd, 2005, in ddm / Shanghai Dong Da Ming Warehouse, there will be a display of the art of light and shadow coming on stage.
